The Willkommen Committee of the New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed a new Airbnb location in New Ulm, R & R German Suite, as a new member of the Chamber. Located at 1616 South German Street, Rod Miller was in for a bigger project than he first thought once they broke ground to provide this beautiful Airbnb location for visitors of New Ulm. This location has 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom with an additional office area that could be used for an additional guest. The living room, kitchen and dining area are open concept, very up-to-date and modern. Airbnb’s are sometimes preferred over nicer hotels for guests that want to be able to have a functioning kitchen. An Airbnb such as this, is nicer for the long-term guests who stay, where it is pretty much an entire house to yourself, instead of a small hotel room. His longest guest stayed for 5 weeks. Many that visit feel very at home, including one MLC parent that opens the door and says “I’m home!” Rod first wanted the business professionals to occupy his space, reaching out to the Medical Center in hopes to find some traveling physicians. It hasn’t been hard for him to keep the German Suite occupied, as he said he’s been very steady since January 1st. The suite is cleaned after every stay and they do a fantastic job ensuring guests have a clean room. What a great additional option for our guests to New Ulm!
