oktoberfest

This weekend will be your last chance this year to partake in New Ulm’s Oktoberfest celebrations! We had an outstanding crowd last weekend, with record breaking attendance – come see what all the fuss is about! New Ulm’s Oktoberfest is nationally recognized, including being voted Best Oktoberfest in Minnesota by WCCO in 2014 and 2nd Best Oktoberfest in America by USA 10 Best in 2017!

Join our festivities in New Ulm’s historic downtown! Saturday will kick off with the Oktoberfest Promenade Parade, sponsored by Bank Midwest. It is a “Wunderbare Parade Deutscher Dinge” (Wonderful Parade of German Things).  The parade begins at 10:30am on Saturday, October 14th and is a chance for everyone to show off their German garments and costumes related to Germany.  Dress up and join the parade!  The end of the parade route flows right into the Downtown Oktoberfest celebration!

The downtown festivities include with music, German (and American) food, local beer and wine, and much more!  Games, horse-drawn trolley rides, a stein-holding contest and more take place as well! Saturday’s Downtown music includes local favorites, The Wendinger Band from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. and Effenheimer from 2 p.m.- 5 p.m.

Join us at the intersection of Center and Minnesota Street from 11 a.m.- 5 p.m. Admission downtown is FREE! Don’t forget that events are taking place all over town! Head out to the festivities at Schell’s Brewery or Best Western Plus, or see what else is happening around town. Free shuttle buses will be running from 10am-midnight between the hotels and the Oktoberfest locations.
